One of the basic tenants of Eastern philosophy, which in turn provides the basis for both Eastern Medicine and the Martial Arts, hold that Mother Nature has alread provided each of us with everything we need in order to promote and maintain a healthy, natural conditioning. A famous, old saying that illustrates this point translates: "If a man is far from nature, he is close to disease; but, if a man is close to nature, he is far from disease." Eastern Medicine and the Martial Arts simply serve as secondary tools that support the natural abilities and body structures that we have already been given. According to Eastern philosophy, man is made up of three different elements: Ki (Life Force or Vital Energy), the mind (or mental condition), and the physical body.

The martial arts's "Natural Healing Art" focuses on the treatment and prevention of acute and chronic disorders. Disorders may include spinal disorders associated with back pain, sciatica (lumbar spinal problem), carpel tunnel syndrome (sometimes, this is also caused by a cervical disorder), arm pain, and numbness in the fingers which may also be caused by a cervical problem.

Neck and back problems are very common physical conditions that many people experience throughout life and many people suffer daily from pain. The sad thing is that the treatment they receive is not effective. It does not achieve the needed results.

Just like the name "Natural Healing," the martial arts natural healing methods use martial arts techniques. It is the safest approach to enhance the natural healing processes of the body. These natural healing martial arts techniques come from the traditional martial arts. In Eastern society, these traditional martial arts can be traced back thousands of years in history.

In the Eastern part of the world, the martial arts and medicine have been intertwined every since mankind discovered the concept of "Ki."
