Classification of Ginseng Tea

  • Soo Sam: Water Ginseng is naturally produced from the ground

  • Bak Sam: Dry or White Ginseng

  • Mi Sam: Stem of the Ginseng

  • San Sam: Wild Ginseng that is found growing in the mountains

  • Hong Sam: Cooked Ginseng

In preparing Ginseng, the top must be taken off because it contains certain harmful characteristics.  Ginseng will affect people with different metabolisms in different ways.  Therefore, if it is taken for a long period of time, then it may affect two people in different ways.  While it may strengthen one person's metabolism, it may also cause skin disorders in another and cause the liver to be excessively strong in others.  This excessive actions of the organs causes  the body's balance to be disturbed.  Ginseng generally has a warming affect, a sweet taste and is slightly bitter.  Ginseng is used in Eastern Medicine to improve Ki "Life Force" and strengthen the immune system.

Procedure for Drinking Ginseng Tea

  • Rinse Ginseng root well and let dry

  • Grind Ginseng root to a powder

  • Boil Water

  • Mix 1 teaspoon Ginseng with 1 cup of water

  • Drink 3 times a day

Affect

Ginseng will develop the internal organs particularly the spleen, lungs and Ki.  Ginseng will promote fluid development and reduce thirst.  It clears the mind, improves vision and enhances concentration while improving the overall function if the immune system.  Fatigue, poor appetite, poor digestion, diarrhea, cough due to weakness, heavy menstrual flow, nervousness and Ki deficiencies all benefit from Ginseng.  

Caution

Do not use if suffering from high fever.  If leukemia, lead poisoning, stress, liver problems, kidney problems, bronchitis or hypertension are present, avoid Ginseng.
