History of Tea Russia The Russians became actively involved in tea cultivation and enjoyment. The Chinese embassy presented the Czar with a gift of tea, and this further promoted the popularity of tea in Russia. A trade treaty was established between China and Russia. This was a long arduous journey spanning thousands of miles. Due to this difficulty in traveling, the price of tea headed toward higher plateaus. This soon made tea available to only the wealthy. As with other countries, the price of tea eventually dropped and was soon made available to all people. |
